Privacy Policy — YouTube Focus Mode

YouTube Focus Mode ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that blurs distracting elements on YouTube pages (sidebar recommendations, comments, end screen suggestions, homepage feed, and Shorts shelves) to help users stay focused.

Data Collection

The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, browsing history, or user activity. It does not use analytics, tracking scripts, or remote servers of any kind.

Data Stored

The extension uses Chrome's built-in storage API to save your Focus Mode preferences locally (which blur options are enabled, whether the indicator badge is shown, and whether Focus Mode is on or off). This data:

• Stays on your device (or syncs privately across your own signed-in Chrome browsers via your Google account, using Chrome's native sync feature)
• Is never sent to the developer or any third party
• Is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond remembering your extension settings

Permissions

The extension requests the minimum permissions needed to function:

• storage — to save your toggle preferences
• activeTab — to apply blur styling to the YouTube tab you're currently viewing
• Host access to youtube.com — to detect and blur specific YouTube page elements; the extension does not run on or access any other website

Third Parties

The extension does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
